My Today Show Segment: Behind the Scenes

My Today Show Segment: Behind the Scenes

I just had the most amazing opportunity – to showcase my passion for easy, affordable decor on national TV.  And not just any TV show – we’re talking the Today Show, baby!

I wish I could say I handled this once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity with grace and calm.  If you picture me pacing the hallways at 3am and stress-eating Oreos for the two weeks before I taped my segment, that would be a more accurate picture.

But despite all that nail-biting, it went off without a hitch!

I walked these two lovely hosts (Tamron Hall and Natalie Morales) through 4 DIY / home decor projects.  Taking everyday items from ordinary… to extraordinary!

The day before my segment started early with a Uhaul rental and my dear friend Reshma pitching in as my partner in crime.  She’s such a good friend, she battled midtown Manhattan traffic in a huge cargo van just so all my precious props could arrive at the studio on time.

We rehearsed the evening before (here’s me telling all the guys what to do and they’re basically not listening to me).

Here’s me talking “flower pots” with my producer Viv who was just lovely and amazing to work with.

This was hands-down my favorite project.  Cheryle and the Overlays team were just so generous and responsive in helping me get the right kind of product to showcase.  You can read more about my love of Overlays here.

I’ll be sure to tell you more about these projects here on the blog as well.  They are so easy and fun – even people completely lacking the “DIY gene” can do them no problem.

It really was such a fun experience.  I can’t wait to go back!

What did you say?  You MISSED my Today Show segment?  Don’t worry – you can still see it right here!
