Cheerful Kitchen Idea – Colorful Grout
I just spotted a terrific kitchen design idea in the latest HGTV magazine.
Tangerine colored grout! Here’s my wrinkled copy…
That’s right – they used “tangerine” colored grout between white tiles. I just love the effect.
What a clever way to inject color and cheer into a kitchen!
I showed my mom who basically was like, “I hate it”. And I was SHOCKED. I mean, I think it’s one of the more clever, cute things I’ve seen lately. But she made a good point – isn’t orange going to be out in 5 years? So you’ve invested money in something permanent that will look outdated in a heartbeat?
Okay, I get her point. But I think this could be a super cute project for a small city apartment or a bungalow. Some small space where the investment isn’t a huge amount of $$ and it’s okay to be a little more trendy.
The debate rages on in our household. What do you think? Choosing a grout that’s colorful – terrific or terrible??
