My Office Makeover

My Office Makeover

“Put your money where your mouth is.”

These words have been ringing in my ears for the past few days.  Want to know why?

Because I just launched an incredible Office Transformation Package for the new year – basically, for a set fee I’m offering to completely redesign a handful of lucky peoples’ workspaces using easy and affordable ideas.

I’ll tell you more about it in a second, but in the meantime let’s jut say I walked into my office the other day and saw this:

I KNOW!

Oh, and when I sit at my desk, this is the view I have:

How can I spend my time telling other people how to make their workspaces better when my own is a complete disaster?!

Here’s the thing – studies show that our surroundings have a direct impact on not only our productivity but also how we feel about ourselves and ultimately how successful we are.  Can you imagine walking into your workspace every morning feeling clear, confident, productive and successful?  All because of a few tweaks to your surroundings?

I’ve decided to “put my money where my mouth is” by transforming my own workspace.  For the next few weeks, I’m going to turn this space around, using only easy & affordable ideas.

The office transformation starts today.

First Step:  Paint

Changing the color of your walls is the cheapest and most impactful way to change your space.  I actually really love that Kelly green I chose, but truth be told it was a “preppy” experiment gone bad.  The color just didn’t work.

I chose Benjamin Moore’s Woodlawn Blue  for my new color – it’s a light blue-gray and leaves my room feeling clean and serene.

Wow, already it feels like a completely different room.

Just to give you a sense, here’s my view before:

And (after a little bit of tidying) here it is now:

(hm, have to figure out new fabric for that bench….)

Just with this small change, I already feel more productive and accomplished.  I feel more pulled together.  If you’re thinking at all about a new paint color for your own space, I say don’t hesitate!  And if you’re not sure about blue, what about a nice, light gray?  (here’s my run-down on 4 no-fail gray paint colors).

For the next few weeks, I invite you to join me on this Office Transformation Journey.

Together we’re going to learn about better organizing solutions, little things you can do to make your workspace more inviting, the best (and most affordable) office furniture you can buy…  and if you think you need more hand-holding and direct help, check out my Office Transformation promotion here.
